San Diego, California
Mark Murino is slowly perfecting the art of the call back. A dedicated street team member must always seize an opportunity to document a BD. Mark has certainly proven his willingness to do so. December 2010 completely belonged to him not only as a San Diego street team member, but for our entire community of Foul Play Enthusiasts (FPE). It’s an honor to have his efforts.
San Diego although much smaller than LA, packs a real punch with its volume of BDs. Don’t be fooled by the tranquil coastline and timeless charm. It harbors some of the most textbook Dumpers we’ve seen. There is a tireless commitment in SD to maintaining the rich automotive history of Detroit. Its value to our work cannot be overstated. A vital piece of the California BD puzzle will always remain in San Diego.
This Dumper was found in an industrial portion of SD. The type of area where strip clubs share parking lots with fat scooter manufacturers and cottage cheese wholesalers. It also has a type of anonymity not available in the bustling streets of North park or Pacific Beach. This twisted Lincoln gets to creep slowly around no-name industrial streets, it’s chassis dropping 2 feet with every creaky turn. The chrome bumpers appear able to liquefy anything that becomes an obstacle. Yet it teases us with proper hubcap hygiene. We are lead to believe that this is just an old car which someone still takes care of. But we know better.
