Body Dumper Track for Week of July 26, 2010
In celebration of our recent submissions of killer Cadillacs we have an aptly titled jam from T Rex. “Cadillac” appeared on the 1972 album “The Slider” and is by far my favorite song of the whole album. It’s an outrageous BD groover made for slinky boot scooting. The squirrels will absolutely love this one I assure you. There are elements of proper British glam, but ultimately it’s just rock n’ roll.
This is a rare live performance of “Cadillac” which showcases all of Marc Bolan’s charm and panache. He boot scoots while belting out the words in his signature voice. The poster child for glam? Maybe. But more importantly we are reminded of electric Friday nights on the Boulevard. All the girls chase after the chosen few lanky lovers of a small town. The type of guys that get bored sleeping with the prettiest girls. Don’t hate them, they are just much cooler than you. The parking lot at the bowling alley is crawling with girls looking for adventure. They walk amongst the LTDs, Skylarks, Chargers, and Cadillacs. Secretly, these squirrels know what they are in the midst of. And there is an unspoken hope that tonight may just last forever.
