New York, New York
I am pleased to welcome another NYC street team member. Alexandra Machinist is making muy monster call backs. This is a real groovy find in one of New York’s trendiest and most charming areas. Just blocks from Gramercy park lurks a pristine BD walking a fine line between classic car and foul play chariot. Body Dumper classification is much like going to therapy. It’s all about how you feel. This one in particular does not fool me with it’s shiny paint job and fully intact hubcaps. We have a BD on our hands. No questions asked.
This killer rag top Caddy sits quietly amongst the hustle of America’s greatest city. Modern day relics like the Curry Leaf restaurant and an ATM machine linger in the background. But this Dumper waits stoically while taking up 2 parking spots. The Cadillac was at one time the king of luxury cars. It uniquely symbolized American prosperity and innovation. Detroit still had substantial automotive influence outside of Michigan. Everyone believed it when they were told Cadillac was the apex.
New York has become accustomed to tiny imports boasting world record mpg ratings. Hoards of tiny little Japanese whips pack the streets. The more civilized city slickers push high end German luxury sedans and coupes. Steve Ditman types scoff at a Body Dumpers like this while accelerating quickly in their new BMWs. But this BD is part of the real ruling class. Even though it’s now associated with comb overs and tinted prescription glasses, it was once caviar and recreational golf. And if you ask me, I still think it’s the apex.
